How to Properly Assemble an Electrolyzer?

Principles and Operational Guide: Stonylab Electrolyzer Assembly

In electrochemical experiments, the compatibility between electrodes and the Electrolyzer directly affects sealing performance, operational stability, and the reproducibility of experimental results.

Stonylab focuses on electrochemical research and provides a one-stop electrochemical solution covering Electrolyzers, electrodes, reference electrodes, and related accessories. All components are designed with careful consideration of dimensions, interfaces, and application scenarios, ensuring excellent compatibility and matching between Stonylab electrodes and the Electrolyzer, thereby minimizing installation issues caused by mismatched components.

In this video, the Stonylab Electrolyzer system is used as an example to demonstrate the correct installation of the working electrode, reference electrode, and gas tubing, helping users complete system setup efficiently and correctly.

Installation of the Working Electrode

  1. Remove the Electrolyzer PTFE Lid and take out the Stonylab working electrode.
  2. Insert the electrode upward through the bottom of the Electrolyzer PTFE Lid.
  3. Place the Sealing Rubber Ring onto the electrode rod.
  4. Slide the Large Hole Ventilation Knob into position and tighten it onto the Electrolyzer PTFE Lid to complete the installation of the working electrode.

Installation of the Reference Electrode

  1. Take out the Stonylab reference electrode and remove the protective cap.
  2. Place the Large Hole Ventilation Knob onto the reference electrode.
  3. Install the Sealing Rubber Ring onto the glass tube of the reference electrode.
  4. Insert the electrode into the Electrolyzer PTFE Lid and tighten the ventilation knob to complete the installation.

Installation of the Gas Tubing

  1. Remove the Small Hole Ventilation Knob from the Electrolyzer PTFE Lid.
  2. Insert the supplied gas tubing into the Small Hole Ventilation Knob.
  3. Place the Sealing Rubber Ring onto the tubing.
  4. Tighten the Small Hole Ventilation Knob into the Electrolyzer PTFE Lid to complete the gas tubing installation.

Key Installation Notes

  • Special attention should be paid to the position of the Sealing Rubber Ring.
  • The Sealing Rubber Ring should be placed between the ventilation knob and the Electrolyzer PTFE Lid.
  • A reliable, high-level seal is achieved by tightening the ventilation knob to compress the Sealing Rubber Ring.
  • Proper installation is essential for experiments that require a fully sealed or controlled-atmosphere Electrolyzer.

By using an electrode-Electrolyzer system designed for compatibility, users can significantly improve sealing performance and operational stability, while also achieving more reliable and reproducible electrochemical results.

Stonylab designs its products from a system-level perspective, ensuring seamless cooperation between the Electrolyzer, electrodes, and accessories, and providing researchers with a more efficient and worry-free experimental experience.

Choosing Stonylab means choosing an electrochemical solution that has been thoroughly validated for compatibility, reliability, and professional performance.
