About this item
- Nafion PEM is a proton-conducting polymer membrane, also known as perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) membrane, which allows only protons (cations) to pass through
- It is commonly used in H-type or three-compartment H-type electrolytic cells to separate the anode and cathode chambers
- Primarily applied in membrane electrode assemblies (MEA) for proton exchange
- Membrane fuel cells, it serves to separate reactants and conduct protons
It can be used after soaking in an electrolyte solution or directly in experiments - 1 pack; custom sizes available
Nafion Membrane Pretreatment Required:
Recommended pretreatment: Treat with 5% hydrogen peroxide solution at 80 °C for 1 hour, soak in deionized water for 30 minutes, then boil in 5% dilute sulfuric acid (by mass) at 80 °C for 1 hour, and finally soak in deionized water for another 30 minutes. Alternatively, depending on the users established practices, the membrane may also be used directly after soaking in the electrolyte solution.
